ingredients you need
What you need for these crispy mozzarella sticks:

- Gluten Free Breadcrumbs:For best results, use gluten-free panko breadcrumbs. These work best and create the ideal texture! I really like Ian's gluten free panko.
- Gluten Free Flour:You can use any type of gluten-free flour for this recipe. It does not necessarily have to be 1:1 wheat flour.
- Owner:I always use large eggs for this recipe!
- Mozzarella:While you can use pre-sliced mozzarella sticks, slicing real mozzarella cheese yourself gives you a meltier and more delicious mozzarella stick. I like to buy some of the low-fat mozzarella cheese.
How to make gluten free mozzarella sticks
- Halve the mozzarella block lengthwise. Then cut these halves into sticks about 1.5 cm thick.
- Line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.

- Set up 3 shells for a diving station.
- Gluten-free multipurpose flour
- Egg mix (eggs beaten smooth with a pinch of salt)
- gluten free panko bread
- Dip each cheese stick in the gluten-free flour, followed by the egg wash and finally the third bowl of the gluten-free breadcrumb mixture. Place each coated toothpick on the baking sheet.

- Freeze the mozzarella sticks on the baking sheet for at least two hours.
- In a heavy-bottomed 8-inch saucepan, heat oil of your choice to 365F. You want a few inches of oil in the pan.
- Fry the mozzarella sticks in batches (about 4-5 at a time) for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Turn once halfway.
- Drain off the excess oil from the cheese sticks on paper towels and serve immediately with the marinara sauce. Enjoy your gluten-free cheese sticks!
Storage Instructions
Save on computer:These mozzarella sticks are best consumed right after roasting, but you can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to five days.
To advance:These mozzarella sticks can be made ahead of time. Just follow all the steps through to roast and store in the freezer until ready to roast.
