I love baked chicken thighs as you can pop the whole thing in the oven, let them do whatever they want without stirring, etc. Let's face it, if you have small children, working on a hot stove can be tricky sometimes!

Why this recipe works
- A simple gluten-free recipe with only 5 ingredients.
- Baked, you literally throw the drumsticks in the oven and voila.
- A great recipe that is suitable for so many different dietary needs, egg free, dairy free and gluten free. Paleo, Keto and 30.
Ingredients you will need
To make my paprika chicken thighs you only need 5 basic ingredients: Chicken thighs, paprika, olive oil, garlic and lemon zest. Oh, and salt and pepper for seasoning, if you like.

The flavors in this Paprika Chicken Thighs recipe are already pretty kid-friendly, to make it even more kid-friendly you can omit theLemon peel.
pimentongives a lot of color but little to no spice/heat. This recipe is delicious with sweet or smoked paprika, but if it is smoked the flavor is much stronger. Personally, I prefer it, but if your family is not used to smoked paprika, I would try sweet paprika first.
Sweet paprika can just say paprika in the box/jar, smoked is usually identified by the word smoked or hungarian
I am an ambassador for Countdown supermarket, they support my blog by providing ingredients to create and test recipes. In this recipe I used paprika, olive oil, free-range chicken thighs, and variety of salt.
How to make baked chicken thighs
- Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius approximately 400 Fahrenheit
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (not necessary, but makes cleanup easy)
- Place the drums on a cookie sheet or rimmed baking sheet, keeping them in a single layer with just a little space between each.(photo 1). If the chicken thighs are too wet, you can pat them dry with a paper towel.
- In a small bowl, combine the marinade, oil, paprika, garlic, lemon zest, and salt (you can use a whisk or fork, just mix well(photo 2).
- Pour marinade over drums, use a brush to distribute evenly(photos 3-4).
- Roast in the hot oven for 45 minutes, if you like crispier skin, at the 40 minute mark bask the drums with the pan juices and place the oven on the rack for the last 5 minutes of cooking.
- Season with salt and pepper, Serve.

How do I serve these drums?
I serve these paprika chicken thighs with puree. My favorite family mash is a 50:50 potato and cauliflower mix. I just boil the potato and cauliflower together and mash them with a little butter, milk and salt.
Add a side of green vegetables and you have a winning family meal.

Tips
This is how you can make these chicken thighs perfectly every time!
- If the chicken thighs are very wet when you take them out of the package, pat them dry with paper towels before marinating.
- Use a hot oven and make sure it is preheated to the correct temperature before cooking the chicken thighs.
- If you like your chicken thighs with crispier skin, at the 40-minute mark baste the drums with the pan juices and place the oven on the broiler for the last 5 minutes of cooking.
frequent questions
How to cook chicken drumsticks?
For me, I think the easiest way to cook chicken thighs istake them to the oven. Often, like in this recipe, I make a quick marinade to add extra flavor and flavor to the chicken feet.
How to bake chicken thighs in the oven
Pat dry (with a paper towel) and grease the thighs before grilling, this helps to crisp up the skin. You can add some spices like I do in this recipe, or you can just toast them.
At what temperature should you bake chicken thighs?
When roasting chicken thighs, I recommend a hot oven. for me that is200-220 degrees Celsius this will ensure that you have crispy skin and not horrible rubbery skin. I think 200-220 degrees Celsius becomes about400 to 420 Fahrenheit
Is it necessary to cover the drumsticks in the oven?
There is no need to cover chicken thighs when roasting in the oven. Roasting uncovered allows the chicken skin to caramelize and crisp.
What should I serve with chicken thighs?
Chicken thighs are delicious served with a smooth and creamy carbohydrate, such as mashed potatoes, mashed cauliflower, or polenta, and a steamed green vegetable, such as beans or broccoli.
How do you know when the drumsticks are ready?
A good indicator of when the chicken thighs are done is when you notice the skin cracking and the tendons starting to shrink. Cut into a thigh and make sure the juices run clear, this will indicate that the chicken thighs are cooked through.

You continue to use the marinade in the directions; however, I don't see it in the ingredients list. What kind of marinade? I don't even see a photo or image of that.
I want to try this recipe, but am very confused right now. Please clarify.
Is it like chicken broth or something?Gracias.

The marinade is the one made with olive oil, lemon peel with paprika, etc. It is not a separate thing.
