In 2023, lighting will be used to emphasize warmth in addition to the color on the walls, Smith said. "Always consider lighting because it's very important in the bedroom," says Smith. "Warm incandescent bulbs glow with red undertones after dark, bathing the bedroom in a warm glow."

Charlie Dumais, Ceramicist at Design StudioMade in Dumas, and speaking of 2023, the smaller decorative items in our bedrooms, such as lampshades, will take on more expression. "We'd like to see more saturated colors in our bedroom lamps, more glossy than matte finishes, and more refined shades," Dumas tells us.

Kirk also predicts that in the year ahead, people will upgrade small details in their bedrooms to create more luxurious spaces.
"It's more important now than ever that we have rest spaces, like our bedrooms, that cater to our individual needs to relax and rest," Kirk said. "Furniture will continue to focus on curves and wavy details, but on a larger scale than we saw in 2022," Casey said. "I think we're going to see a lot more of that in the future."
